Our Activities

These activities run from September to May unless otherwise noted.  For more information on any of these activities or about our club, please Contact Us.

Adopt a Road - Help beautify our community and have fun together. We meet at the Columbia Eastside library parking lot on Cradlerock Way to help make the street look nice.

Book Club - we meet the 2nd Monday of the month

Bridge - We meet on the 4th Wednesday of each month, starting at 10 a.m.

Bunco AM - If you have never played before, we can teach you.  Hope lots of you can join us!! Bunco is held on the 4th Tuesday of every month at 10 a.m. in member's homes.  Our main purpose is to have FUN! 

Canasta - First Wednesday of the month. New people are always welcome!

Coffee - First Thursdays at Panarea's Bread (Dobbins Road - Walmart Shopping Center). Hope to see you there!

Dominoes - Dominoes is a very easy game to play and we would like to see more new faces joining us!

Fun Bunch - a group for couples and singles.

December 15th - Christmas Party hosted by Anne & Norm Goldstein.

January 12th - Murder Mystery hosted by Linda & Brian Newton.

February 9th - Valentines with Champagne and Chocolates hosted by Bonnie & Bob Kaplan.

March 15th - ST. Patrick's Party hosted by Joan & Mel Soul'e.

April 12th - Wine Tasting hosted by Janie & Arlen Bee.

 
Facebook - if you want to join and be able to receive and send emails to other Newcomers via email/facebook,  just do a search under groups for "Newcomers of Howard County" and add yourself to the group.

Happy Hour - Come eat, drink, and be merry once a month on a Monday evening at a restaurant or bar

Lunch Bunch - Lunch Bunch will usually meet on the 4th Thursday on the month 

Mah Jongg - meets weekly at members' homes on Tuesdays year round

Movies - Meets second Mondays at AMC Columbia for movie and lunch

Stitch & Such - If anyone is interested in learning to knit or crochet we will be happy to teach you.  We meet on the fourth Thursday afternoon of each month at 1:30 p.m. in each other's homes.  We bring our knitting, needlework, sewing, etc. and enjoy good company and refreshments. We welcome new people to the group.

Tennis  - Tennis season will end on Friday, November 2nd.  We will resume tennis in the spring, right after Easter break. Mean while keep up with your regular routine of exercise, lifting weights, walking, running etc. Please, stretch before any physical activity-especially calf to avoid an injury to the heel. Drink plenty of water. 

Walking - Won’t you please join us?  We have had a group of 8 walkers most weeks.  There is a pace for you, whether you are a slow, medium or fast walker.  So, get up, get out on Friday mornings, weather permitting and join us for a walk around Lake Elkhorn. We will meet on Fridays, at 9:15 am in the parking lot at Lake Elkhorn off Broken Land Parkway.  The parking lot is off Broken Land Parkway on the east side (going north on Broken Land). Call or email Linda or Pat to let them know who to expect and if you need directions.
