Newcomers Club of Howard County was created and exists for the friendship and fellowship of women new to Howard County.  All residents of Howard County, Maryland, regardless of time of residency, are invited to join us!

Dear Newcomers,
We had a nice turn-out and a wonderful time at the annual holiday party. Thanks to Nancy Davis for opening her lovely home to us, and to Kaethe Schick and Carol Reiss for doing the shopping. As I've been sick and out of town, it was the beginning of what promises to be a glorious holiday season. I hope you all shared joy with those you love. As we head into the snowy season, please remember that all Newcomer activities are cancelled if schools are closed. If the weather is bad but schools are open, check with the committee chairmen to see what is taking place. Have a happy, healthy New Year and good luck with the resolutions.

  NOTE:

The February 16th General Meeting will be at TGI Fridays in the private room from 11:30 – 2 PM.  We will order from the menu, so please be on time.  We will have a speaker, Marcie Lovett, who is a professional organizer and she will speak about de-cluttering your home.  She will also offer her book for sale.  The plan is for Marcie to speak beginning at 12:30.  Be prepared with questions.

Please RSVP to Jennifer by February 9th if you plan to come.  We cannot accept walk-ins and Jennifer has to provide the number of participants to the restaurant in advance.  We look forward to seeing you there!

The general meeting will take place on Thursday, Jan.19 from 11:30 AM to 2 PM at Corner Stable (located at 8630 Guilford Road, Columbia, MD, 21046; this is where Michael’s Pub in Kings Contrivance used to be).

Jennifer got an attorney to speak about estate planning. She didn’t commit to getting speakers for the year, just arranging venues for the general meeting, so please think about possible speakers and bring up ideas to Laurie Nardinelli for the group to have speakers at future general meetings.
The Corner Stable will do individual checks for everyone to be able to order off the menu, but please RSVP to Jennifer Ingram so she can give them a head count.
